Engineered Garments has collaborated once again with classic footwear brand Sebago, this time for FW21.

The new collaboration consists of a pleasantly chunky and thick version of the classic penny loafer. The loafer was born amongst Norwegian fishermen, but soon spread to the rest of the world. Widely popular as a casual shoe in the United States, the loafer has seen countless variations.

This time, Engineered Garments’ designer Daiki Suzuki and Sebago have created an optimal version - combining Engineered Garments flair with Sebago’s classic model. The most important specs on this model include the daring material choice and thick soles. The chunky sole gives the shoe a playful atmosphere, feeling more comfortable kicking around the streets than sitting down in an office. Meanwhile, the adventurous croc and python leather stamp materials pay homage to the exotic leathers used in loafers throughout the 20th century - although customers are more than welcome to choose a simple wax suede.

The rest of the construction is done in classic American style, sporting the traditional “beefroll”, Maine-style mocc stitching, and saddle slot - which can hold a penny in case you need a spare cent.
