At that time Tarvas was almost unknown, producing from Helsinki, Finland, it still feels fantastic that we connected creatively and from different sides of the globe. Do you recall your firstreaction to Tarvas that made you think: "I want to work with these makers"?"

Daiki: The biggest factor was probably Takuya, the store manager, convincing me. I didn’t know about Tarvas or its background at the time.

Based on Joseph Cheaney’s iconic CAIRNGORM IIR, known for its refined presence and robust build, this model also features the 4436 Last, once used for British military footwear, offering a relaxed, comfortable fit. Its standout feature is the rare Veldtschoen construction, where the upper is stitched over thesole to minimize gaps and block out water and debris. Combined with "bellows tongue", where the tongue and quarters are crafted as one, the design delivers enhanced waterproof protection.
